The Puget Sound Stereo Camera Club meets on the second Saturday of each month except July and August. Our annual season runs from September until June. Meetings start at 12:00 noon, unless otherwise noted in the special meeting notice.
Meetings are open to the public at no charge and usually last about
three hours during which there are instructional programs and at least
one projected 3D slide show. Slide shows are usually "Stereo Realist" format,
however, all forms of 3D are welcome, including the "Viewmaster", the European
7 sprocket type, stereograph prints and standard 35 mm slides.
There is also a monthly competition on a theme.
February Program
- This month's club competition theme is Animals. Bring your slides or digital images interpreting this theme. We will have separate Slide and Digital competitions.
- Both the Digital and Slide projectors will be available, so bring any images you want to project.
January Happenings
- Treasurer's Report
- Don Munsil brought in his Mirscope viewer and a book that was produced for the Mirscope featuring the work of 8 photographers. Both Don Munsil and Bob Venezia have images in the book.
- Bob Venezia brought in the front half of a viewer designed by John Thurston of Juneau, Alaska, along with John's 60mm viewer kludged from a 3DWorld viewer. Many oohed and aahed.
- Bob Venezia brought in examples of Diableries.
- Don Munsil presented several movie clips, including the 2nd part of Brian May's "Brief History of 3D."
Time to Renew Your Membership
It's that time of year again. Time to renew your membership with PSSCC. Again this year an annual family membership is only $20. What a bargain! Our Treasurer, Mart McCann, will be accepting your payments.
ISCC Image Format Requirements
- Each Left and Right image should be combined into one "parallel view" JPEG file that is exactly 2048 pixels by 768 pixels. The file name for the parallel view pair should be in the form of "01_title_firstname_lastname.jpg".
- Each L/R image may be smaller if desired, but each half of the image should be centered in a 1024 by 768 black frame.
- The combined image views (left and right) should be 2048 X 768. Maximum file size of each entry file should not exceed 2.5 MB.
Just a reminder, make sure your final images are parallel views, not cross-eyed.

Dave Casey and Don Munsil have put together a complete digital projection system, including a portable PC and two projectors. Here are the instructions from Don on how to set up your images for digital projection:
The format for images is side-by-side, parallel (left image on the left) with no border or margin. Any size is fine; they do not need to be resized to fit the projectors.
For advanced users, it may provide a slight visual benefit to resize the images so they fit on a 1920x1080 screen exactly, then sharpen and adjust for that resolution. Borders or padding are not required; it's enough to make either the height 1080 and the width 1920 or less, or the width 1920 and the height 1080 or less. This is not required, and if you don't know how to do this, do not bother.
Videos can be in any common codec, but AVC (H.264), VC-1, and XVid are preferred. Side-by-side or over-under are both fine. Resolutions of up to 1920x1080x2 can be handled, but be aware that very high resolution or very high bitrate video may stutter somewhat.
